Attending a National Rover Moot is an experience you'll remember for years to come. From unforgettable adventures and new friendships to discovering a different side of Western Australia, your registration fee is what make it all possible.
The cost of attending WOW Moot is made of three parts: your Core Fee, your Expedition Fee, and your Contingent Fee. Spreading the cost this way means you only pay for the adventure you choose, while your Branch, or International Contingent can manage the arrangements that are unique to you.
Payments for WOW Moot are also spread across four seperate instalments, making it easier for you to budget in the lead-up to Moot.
Your registration fee is made up of three parts:
This covers your main WOW Moot experience, including onsite accommodation, catering, event operations, program, entertainment, and everything that brings the event together.
Your Expedition Fee covers the adventure you choose during the expedition phase of Moot. Because every expedition is different, prices vary depending on the activities, accommodation, and transport involved. This also means that you can choose an expedition that works for your budget.
To discover more about the cost of each expedition, why not head over to our expeditions page.
Your Contingent Fee is set by your State, Territory, or International Contingent and covers the costs of preparing your contingent for Moot. This may include administration, contingent activities, transport, merchandise, or other local arrangements.
You can learn more about your contingent fees by contacting your contingent team or by visiting your contingents page.
The table below shows the Core Fee for each participant type. This fee is the same for everyone in that category and covers the main WOW Moot experience.
Your total registration cost will also include your chosen Expedition Fee and your Contingent Fee, which are shown separately throughout the registration process.
To make attending WOW Moot more manageable, your registration can be paid in instalments throughout the lead-up to the event.
A $200 deposit is required when you submit your application. Paying your deposit allows us to allocate you to your chosen expedition and is completed securely through our online payment gateway.
All payments will appear on your statement as The Scout Association of Australia, Western Australian Branch, the hosts of Way Out West Moot.
Expedition Only leaders, your core fee is indicated in brackets.
If you need to withdraw from WOW Moot after submitting your application, please let the Moot Organising Committee know as soon as possible by emailing wow27@scoutswa.com.au.
The refund you receive will depend on when you withdraw and any costs that have already been committed on your behalf. Please refer to the table below for the applicable refund amounts.
Please note that your contingent fee may have refund conditions. Contact your contingent team for more information about this.
If the cost of attending WOW Moot is a barrier, there may be financial assistance available through your local community.
Consider checking whether your local council, State or Territory Government, or local businesses offer grants, sponsorships, or support for young people attending major events. You can also contact your Scouts Branch or NSO to find out whether it offers any financial assistance programs for members attending national events.
Fundraising can be a great way to reduce the cost of attending WOW Moot, and it is even better when your Rover Unit gets involved.
Bring your Unit together and plan an activity that works for your local community. You could run a quiz night, help out at community events, organise a fundraising activity, or fire up the barbecue for a Bunnings sausage sizzle.
As well as helping with the cost of Moot, fundraising is a great opportunity to work together, build connections, and share your WOW Moot journey with your community.
