The Moot Organising Committee
The Moot Organising Committee is the team responsible for bringing Way Out West Moot to life, made up of Rover Scouts and Supporting Leaders from across Western Australia.
Each member of the team leads a different part of the event, from expeditions and program to operations, health and wellbeing, marketing, administration, and more. Together, they’re responsible for the planning and delivery of WOW Moot, working behind the scenes to make sure all the pieces come together for an unforgettable National Moot.
There’s plenty of work that goes into making an event like WOW Moot happen.

ABOUT ISAAC
Isaac began his Scouting journey as a Cub Scout and is now a Rover with Subiaco Scout Group. His adventures have taken him from national events around Australia to Kandersteg in Switzerland, and has even been a member of the Scouts WA Branch Leadership Team as Deputy Chief Commissioner Youth Support. As Event Director, Isaac leads the team bringing WOW Moot together and hopes every Rover leaves WA thinking, “WOW, that was great!”
Brent Rush
Program Director
About Brent
Brent started Scouting as a Joey at North Beach, making his way through the sections before later returning to reopen the North Beach Rover Unit. His Scouting adventures have taken him to World Scout events in the USA, Switzerland, and Portugal. Brent is a member of the Scouts WA Youth Program Team, and outside of Scouting he works in the Sports and Recreation sector. As Program Director, Brent is putting that experience to work, creating plenty to see and do at WOW Moot.
Tom Dowsley
EXPEDITIONS DIRECTOR
About Tom
Tom brings plenty of major event experience to WOW Moot, having led WA Contingents to Australian Jamborees and supported Australian Contingents travelling to events around the world. He has also served as Event Director for OneCamp in 2023 and 2026, while somehow finding time to be a high school teacher. As one of our Expeditions Directors, Tom is helping turn five days exploring WA into an unforgettable adventure.
Kellee Randall

Kellee is no stranger to major Scouting events, having supported WA Contingents to Australian Jamborees, Australian Contingents overseas, and OneCamp as Deputy Event Director. As Scouts WA’s Branch Commissioner International Scouting, she also knows a thing or two about adventures further afield. As one of our Expeditions Directors, Kellee is helping showcase some of the incredible experiences waiting across WA.
Ryan Jones
Admin Director
ABOUT Ryan
Ryan is a current Rover Scout who has been involved in plenty of major Scouting events, particularly behind the scenes in program and administration roles. He has also served as Chair of the WA Branch Youth Council, giving him plenty of experience keeping people, plans, and information moving in the right direction. As Admin Director, Ryan is helping keep the details of WOW Moot organised and everything ticking along behind the scenes.
Ayden Mackenzie
Finance DIRECTOR
ABOUT Ayden
Ayden recently completed six years as Chief Commissioner of Scouts WA, but his connection to Rovers goes much further back, including his own time as a North Beach Rover. He also brings some particularly relevant experience, having helped deliver WAM 2014, the last National Moot held in WA. As Finance Director, Ayden is keeping a close eye on the numbers and helping make WOW Moot a great value experience for participants.
Meghann Gallagher
Health & Welfare Director
ABOUT Meghann
Meghann is a Rover Scout with Subiaco Scout Group and has previously been involved with both the WA Rover Council and National Rover Council. That experience has given her the opportunity to work with and advocate for Rovers both here in WA and across Australia. As one of our Health & Welfare Directors, Meghann is helping build the support systems that will look after participants throughout their WOW Moot experience.
Hannah Lauritsen

ABOUT Hannah
Hannah started Scouting as a Joey in Kambalda before continuing her journey in Esperance, where she went on to achieve her Queen’s Scout Award. Now a Subiaco Rover and Bachelor of Nursing student, she has also put her skills to work at major Scouting events. As one of our Health & Welfare Directors, Hannah is helping make sure everyone at WOW Moot is well supported throughout their adventure.
Toby Blyth
Marketing Director
ABOUT Toby
Toby started Scouting as a Cub in Bunbury in 2005 and went on to Rover with both the South West Regional and North Beach Rover Units. A former Chair of the WA Rover Council and Vice Chair of the National Rover Council, he now serves on the Scouts WA Board and Youth Program Team. After experiencing CBR Moot as a Rover, Toby is now Marketing Director, sharing the story of WOW Moot and getting Rovers excited to Journey Beyond.
Sam Lewis
Risk & Safety Director
ABOUT Sam
Sam started as a Joey at Salter Point Sea Scouts before joining Canning Rovers and, more recently, moving to Darwin. A Scouts WA District Commissioner and youth representative on the Risk Management Committee, Sam loves the friendships and adventures that come with Scouting. As one of our Risk & Safety Directors, Sam is helping make WOW Moot as safe as possible without taking the fun out of the adventure.

About Rebecca
Rebecca currently serves on the Scouts WA Board, bringing her experience in Scouting and governance to the WOW Moot team. She also has a special connection to National Moots in WA, having experienced WAM 2014 from the other side as a participating Rover Scout. Now, as one of our Risk & Safety Directors, Rebecca is helping make sure the adventure of WOW Moot is backed by thoughtful planning and a strong approach to safety.
Bryce Duncan
Operations Director
ABOUT Bryce
Bryce is a current Rover Scout with Mundaring Scout Group and is part of the team working behind the scenes to bring WOW Moot together. As Operations Director, he is helping coordinate the practical side of delivering a National Moot, making sure the people, places, equipment, and logistics come together when they need to. It’s a big job, but an important one in turning all those plans into the event you’ll experience in January.
Contingent Teams
Getting to WOW Moot is a little different depending on where in Australia you’re coming from, and that’s where our Contingent Teams come in.
Every contingent is led by a Contingent Leader, with some supported by a wider team who help their Rovers prepare for the journey west. They’re your local connection to WOW Moot, helping with everything from information and pre-Moot preparation to travel arrangements and the questions that pop up along the way.
Their support doesn’t stop when you arrive either. Throughout Moot, your Contingent Team will be there to support their Rovers, share important information, and help make sure everyone gets the most out of their Way Out West experience.

Casey Magnussen

ABOUT Casey
Casey (right) has been a Scout since 2018, following more than a decade in Girl Guides, and has earned both the Queen’s Guide and Queen’s Scout Awards. A Lake Tuggeranong Sea Scout, Casey has represented ACT Rovers in several Branch and national roles and enjoys canoeing, motorbikes, cooking, and music. As a co-ACT Contingent Leader, they’re helping support the ACT Contingent on their journey west to WOW Moot.

Emma (left) began her Scouting journey at 10 and completed her Queen’s Scout Award before moving from Victoria to Canberra in 2021. She loves hiking, sailing, sustainability, and the opportunities Scouting creates for young people to challenge themselves and grow. As a co-ACT Contingent Leader, Emma is excited to give back to Rovers while helping the ACT Contingent make their way to WOW Moot.

Timothy started as a Joey Scout at six and has since taken his Scouting adventures from Sydney to New Zealand and Norway. A Gymea Rover, Venturer Leader, and keen paddler and vertical adventurer, he also brings event management and major event experience to the role. As NSW Contingent Leader, Timothy is helping NSW Rovers get to WA and make the most of everything WOW Moot has to offer.

ABOUT Alana
Alana has been Scouting in Alice Springs since joining Joeys at six and is now a member of Red Centre Rover Crew, a Joey Leader, and Executive Officer for the NT Branch Rover Council. Outside Scouts, she channels her creativity into visual arts, film, and plenty of other projects. As NT Contingent Leader, Alana is taking on her first contingent and helping NT Rovers make their journey to WOW Moot.

Jessica started as a Joey at North Ipswich and has packed plenty into her Scouting journey, from international adventures to leading major Queensland Rover events. She is now a Rover and Group Leader at North Ipswich, with previous experience leading QMoot and RoVenture. For her third National Moot, Jessica is stepping up as Queensland Contingent Leader to support Queensland Rovers all the way to WOW Moot.

Abby has been part of Scouting since Cubs and is now a member of The Black Knight Rover Unit in Northern Adelaide. From Rover Moots and Jamborees to a memorable Rover Ski Week at Bogong, she loves the friendships and experiences Scouting creates. After experiencing Apple Isle Moot as a participant, Abby is now leading the SA Contingent and helping her fellow Rovers create their own unforgettable Moot experience.

Brad began Scouting as a Cub in Snug and is now a Kingborough Rover, Chairperson of the National Rover Council, and Tasmanian Co-State Commissioner – Youth Empowerment. When he isn’t Scouting, you’ll often find him exploring Tasmania by 4WD or sail. Having helped deliver the last National Moot in Tasmania, Brad is now leading the Tasmania Contingent on their journey across to WOW Moot.

Kira is helping Victoria Rovers get ready to make the journey west for WOW Moot. As Victoria Contingent Leader, she is supporting her contingent through the preparations and information they need before arriving in WA, and will continue to be there for her Rovers throughout Moot as they settle in, explore, and make the most of their Way Out West experience.

ABOUT Chloe
Chloe joined Scouting in 2014 and is now an active Leader at North Beach Scout Group, supporting Cubs, Scouts, and Rovers. She loves camping, sport, travel, trying new foods, and helping young people build confidence through Scouting. After supporting AJ2025 as a Line Leader, Chloe is taking on a new challenge as WA Contingent Leader, helping WA Rovers prepare for a National Moot right in their own backyard.
