Make your way to the Great Southern Region and take a look at the stunning Stirling Ranges – Koikyennuruff, home to Western Australia’s highest peaks. Don’t worry, you will be doing more than just looking at them. Each day you will head out on some short but intense hikes taking in some of the best views of the region, before returning to camp each night for some well- earned rest and social time.
Get yourself ready, because the highlight of your expedition is an incredibly rememberable experience. Waking up well before the crack of dawn, you will make your way to the jewel of the Stirling Ranges, Bluff Knoll. Pack your torch and get ready to hike 3.5km up Western Australia’s highest peak in pitch black. At the top you can shelter along the top of the cliff as the Noatch (mist-like spirit) swirls around the peaks as the dawn light starts to glow along the horizon. Then continue to watch as the sun rises over the neighbouring Ellen’s Peak. Once the sun is up you will make your way back down the mountain and take in the incredible views of the rest of the Stirling Ranges.
After some intense days of hiking you will deserve a relaxed day, so why not head down to Albany, Western Australia’s oldest European Settlement. Famous for its coastline of beautiful beaches and rugged rock formations such as The Gap and the Blow Holes. You will be able to choose how you explore this idyllic locality, check out the beaches, grab a feed from the local pub, or learn about some Australian history with a visit to the National ANZAC Centre.
This expedition is perfect for those who want to take in the natural beauty of WA while also working up a sweat and getting that heart-rate going.
