About

Rover Scouts, the oldest of the youth sections in Scouting, welcome young adults aged 18 to 25. A group of Rover Scouts is known as a “Unit,” with each Rover Scout Unit varying in size, from a few members to 50 or more. What sets Rover Scouts apart is their autonomy in governance and program management, creating a unique, passion-driven experience for each member. Rover Scouts provide a supportive environment for young adults to challenge themselves, grow as leaders, and contribute to their communities through service.

Scouting in Australia provides fun youth development activities, building resilient and confident children, adolescents, and young adults aged 5 to 25 across the Joey Scout, Cub Scout, Scout, Venturer Scout, and Rover Scout sections. As one of the largest educational organizations outside of school, Scouts offer kids and adults the opportunity to learn essential life skills in an engaging environment.

A Moot is a gathering of Rover Scouts, and these events can take place at State, National, or even International levels. The Way Out West Moot (WOW Moot) is the 23rd Australian Rover Scout Moot, proposed to be held in the stunning landscapes of Western Australia. And just like every Moot, Rover Scouts are at the helm! From the earliest planning stages to the execution of the event, WOW Moot is organized by Rover Scouts, for Rover Scouts. We’ll collaborate with local businesses and experts to ensure an exceptional experience for both participants and staff.

WOW Moot will emphasize the natural beauty and unique experiences that Western Australia has to offer. From exploring the rich history and culture to indulging in local cuisine and discovering the region’s diverse flora and fauna, the event will be a celebration of everything that makes Western Australia special. We’re committed to making a positive impact on the Scouting and local communities, aiming to be a sustainable event with a focus on local talent and resources.
