Bronze Offsite activities
Each Bronze activity will use 3 Offsite Program points.
Bronze activities are a great way to build more variety into your Offsite Program, with the flexibility to fit several different experiences into your selections. Bronze doesn’t mean smaller, easier, or less exciting, it simply reflects how the activity sits within the Offsite Program ranking system.
With 3 points allocated to each Bronze activity, you can choose up to three Bronze experiences, or combine them with activities from other rankings to build a program that suits you.
Omeo Snorkel Tour
Just off the coast at Coogee sits the wreck of the Omeo, a historic shipwreck that has become part of a thriving underwater environment.
You’ll get to snorkel around the wreck and explore the surrounding Coogee Maritime Trail, where marine life, reef structures, underwater artwork, and pieces of local maritime history all sit beneath the surface.
It’s a chance to go sightseeing somewhere a little different, because this time the thing you’re exploring is underwater.
City of Fremantle Walking Tour
See Fremantle from a different perspective as you explore its streets, laneways, historic West End, and some of the stories hidden behind the buildings you walk past every day.
Along the way, you’ll hear about convicts, sailors, pubs, local characters, and the people and events that helped shape Freo into the city it is today.
Rather than just moving from attraction to attraction, this tour gives you the chance to slow down, look a little closer, and discover some of the history sitting right in the middle of the city.
EXTRA INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY:
You’ll need to be comfortable walking approximately 2 km over mostly flat ground around Fremantle.
Swan River Sailing
There’s no better way to experience Perth’s iconic Swan River than from the water.
Step aboard for a day of sailing, get involved with the crew and learn a little about handling the boat, or simply sit back and enjoy the breeze while Perth’s skyline slips by.
It’s a relaxed way to see the city from a different perspective, with just enough hands-on sailing for those who want to get involved and plenty of time to enjoy being out on the river.
Scarborough Beach Day
Spend the day at one of Perth’s best-known beaches and make it whatever kind of beach day you want it to be.
You can head into the water for a swim, give surfing a go, explore the foreshore, grab something to eat nearby, or simply find a patch of sand and settle in for a while.
With white sand, blue water, and plenty happening along the beachfront, Scarborough is a pretty easy place to spend a summer day.
Just remember, “I forgot sunscreen” is not an acceptable excuse in WA.
Fremantle Train Line Pub Crawl
Make the journey towards Fremantle part of the activity as you work your way along the train line and stop at a selection of pubs and venues along the way.
You’ll move between stops with other Rovers, giving the day a relaxed, social feel where the journey matters just as much as the destination.
It’s less about settling into one venue for the day and more about getting out, exploring, and seeing where the train line takes you.
Bibbulmun Track Day Hike
Pull on your boots and spend the day walking part of one of Western Australia’s most iconic long-distance trails.
Starting from the Kalamunda end of the Bibbulmun Track, you’ll head into the Perth Hills through jarrah and marri forest, past granite outcrops and through a landscape that feels a long way from the city.
You don’t need to walk the full 1,000 kilometres to get a taste of the Bibb. This is your chance to spend a proper day on the trail, carry what you need, enjoy the scenery, and earn that post-hike meal.
EXTRA INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY:
Come prepared for a proper day on the trail. You’ll need to:
- Wear suitable hiking clothing and enclosed footwear.
- Bring and carry your own lunch and drinking water.
- Bring sun protection, including a hat and sunscreen.
Mountain Quarry Abseiling
Head into Mountain Quarry in the Perth Hills and see the rock face from a very different angle.
After getting geared up and learning the techniques you’ll need, you’ll step backwards over the edge and make your way down the quarry face under the guidance of experienced instructors.
It’s a proper outdoor abseiling experience, taking the skills off a purpose-built tower and onto real rock.
You’ll need suitable footwear and clothing, a moderate level of physical ability, and a willingness to trust the rope when it’s time to lean back.
EXTRA INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY:
- You should be physically capable of moderate activity.
- Enclosed footwear and clothing suitable for outdoor activities are required.
- You’ll need to follow all instructions and safety requirements from the activity instructors.
- Any required medical or participation documentation must be completed before taking part.
- Bring your food and water for the activity from the main Moot site.
Perth Cultural Centre
Spend the day exploring the cultural heart of central Perth at your own pace.
You’ll have some of WA’s biggest cultural institutions within easy walking distance, including WA Museum Boola Bardip, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the State Library, PICA, and the wider Perth Cultural Centre precinct.
There’s no single path you have to follow. Wander through a museum, check out an exhibition, visit the gallery, explore the public spaces, or simply follow whatever catches your interest.
It’s your chance to build your own day and discover a side of Perth you might otherwise walk straight past.
Whiteman Park
Spend the day exploring one of Perth’s largest recreation, heritage, and conservation areas.
Whiteman Park brings together bushland, wildlife, museums, heritage attractions, walking and cycling opportunities, and plenty of open space, so there’s much more going on than you might expect at first glance.
Depending on the WOW Moot program, you’ll get the chance to explore different parts of the park and discover a mix of WA history, transport, nature, and wildlife along the way.
